Family Friendly Dining in the City

Perth is well and truly spoiled for choice when it comes to great places to eat with the family.

Whether you’re looking to do something during the school holidays, a midweek meal, or a weekend feast for the whole foodie family, here’s a few local favourites.

Hadiqa

‘Hadiqa’ is the Arabic word for ‘garden’ – and this beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant certainly is a Middle Eastern-inspired oasis right in the middle of Perth’s newly developed Hibernian Place. Parents and carers will enjoy the design and tranquillity of Hadiqa – as well as their school holiday special: kids get a free children’s meal with every qualifying main meal purchased from the regular menu during the school holidays. What a great excuse to take the kids somewhere exotic these school holidays! Learn more.

The Flour Factory

Truly a Perth favourite, The Flour Factory is a stylish yet welcoming urban venue that spans three floors of a historic 100-year-old flour mill. With a focus on fresh local produce, all the bread, pizza, and charcuterie are homemade. The Flour Factory’s menu caters to all, with everything from lamb ribs, sherry, honey, coriander to cauliflower, golden raisin, caper, curry leaf for the more mature mouths. The kid’s menu includes dishes like fish goujons and chips, and potato gnocchi, sugo, parmesan and during these school holidays, children can enjoy a free kids meal*!

Mount Hawthorn Fish and Chips

A visit to vibrant Mount Hawthorn is always worthwhile with its stunning street art, boutiques and plethora of great eating establishments. And there’s nothing quite as good as sitting down to some cracking fish and chips after a day of taking the kids out for an expedition. At Mount Hawthorn Fish and Chips the menu doesn’t creep above $10 so feeding the family won’t break the bank, plus there are a few surprises on the menu. Check out their salt and vinegar bar (rosemary salt with spiced malt vinegar anyone?) and indulge in a few battered Oreos. Learn more.

Blacksmith

Did someone ask for a caffeine-focussed, industrial-inspired, former veterinary clinic that’s family-friendly? The brief sounds quirky, but that’s Blacksmith. And it’s fantastic. Parents and carers will love the incredible selection and quality of coffee (their custom-made Spirit coffee machine is the second machine of its kind in the world) while kids can play in Blacksmith’s outdoor area which includes a sandpit and playroom. Monsterella

When a restaurant is named after the way a toddler pronounces ‘Mozzarella’, you just know it’s going to be warm, inviting and family-focussed. What’s more, Monsterella’ s food quality is second-to-none while the interior boasts incredible ambience. Their pizzas are 100% handmade, naturally risen for 48 hours, and brought to life in their wood-fired oven. The restaurant is casual but cool and caters to the whole family with kids welcome to enjoy the supplied textas and colouring-in menus and pizzas boxes. There’s a separate kids’ menu, the ‘Bambini’, with choices like Marg pizza and spaghetti with tomatoes. Learn more.
