TUCK SHOP, presented by Quay Quarter

Date: Friday 24 May

Time: 4:00 pm

Venue: Food Hall, Quay Quarter Tower

Address: 9 Young Street

On the evening that launches Vivid, we’ve taken over the Food Hall, Quay Quarter Tower – right in the heart of Circular Quay – and turned it into a 90s-themed high school canteen that’s absolutely studded with the city’s biggest celebrity chefs. Join us at TUCK SHOP, a one-off ticketed nostalgic food party, where you’ll get eight of the fanciest 90s-inspired snacks by our celebrity chef all-stars. Their snacks have been inspired by the food and bev stallholders in the Food Hall, which includes Lotus Dumpling Bar, Nam Nam and more to be announced.

Pop on your best mood ring, your chunkiest mules, Dad’s Ken Done jumper, and some baggy Keppers because TUCK SHOP will have rumpus room breakout spaces complete with arcade games and a giant Jenga. Legendary Sydney Gen X DJ, DJ BC, will be spinning classic 90s hits for the evening.

Each celebrity chef will partner with a Quay Quarter Food Hall vendor. These include:

Aria’s Executive Chef, Tom Gorringe x Belles Hot Chicken
Chiswick’s Daniel Cooper x Nam Nam
Poetica’s Connor Hartley-Simpson x Costi’s Fish and Chips
Loulou Bistro’s Ned Parker x Pappy’s Chicken
Rekōdo x Chinta Kenchill
Plate It Forward’s Shaun Christie-David x Deli Ziosa
Pearl’s Executive Chef, Steve Wu x Lotus Dumpling Bar confirmed
The Charles Bar Manager Colin Tam (ex Lotus, Little Felix and Charlie Parkers) x Cali Press

But wait, there’s more! No High School canteen is complete without a Bake Sale, so we’ve enlisted not one, but two of the country’s favourite pastry masters to supply sweet treats for the evening! Christopher Thé, the founder of Black Star Pastry and creator of the world’s most Instagrammed cake (that Strawberry Watermelon Cake) will be serving up the classic Aussie retro favourite, a Vanilla Slice, complete with cassette tape insignia. Charlotte Ree, the celebrated home cook and author of Heartbake, will also be slinging her slices of Charlotte’s Famous Cheesecake.
